In this write up the customer had an accident involved with a deer. The hood and passenger side fender along with the passenger headlight assembly needed replaced. Here is step by step how we did it.
1. Engage emergency brake.
2. Jack up the vehicle and put a jack stand under the uni body rails.
3. Remove bottom plastic skid plate. It includes 8mm bolts and 2 plastic clips. We used a plastic removal tool.
4. Using a 8mm socket. Remove the 2 bolts on the inner fender wheel near the outside fender lip.
5. Go above the strut, remove the 8mm bolt on the fender well.
6. Go to the brake line. Remove the bolts on holding on the fender liner. There should be 2 bolts going into the subframe.
7. Go to the upper fender in the middle. There is a bolt holding on the fender wall here.
8. Make sure all the bolts are out. You only has to take out the half closest to the front of the car.
9. Make sure you removed all the remaining bolts holding on the front portion of the fender well. Then pull it down.
10. Using a T25 or T30. Remove the bolt holding on the plastic inner bumper cover to the fender.
11. After this the bumper should pull off. Gently pull it. It clips in.
12. Remove the rubber gasket/ trim on the top of the grill. We used a T30.
13. Remove the plastic trim piece under #12 step.
14. Here is another picture of the bolts needs removed.
15. Go to the middle of the bumper towards the bottom. There are 2 bolts in the mesh. Unbolt these.
16. Squeeze off the headlight cleaner nozzles. These break really easy and the vehicle I was working on had already broke then from the wreck.
17. Unplug the fog lights.
18. Pull out the fluid tube. It is just clipped into the bumper.
19. Pull the whole bumper off.
20. Unbolt the top 2 bolts on the headlight assembly.
21. Unbolt this lower bolt on the assembly.
22. Unplug the main plug to the headlight assembly.
23. Make sure all the remaining bolts are removed. Then pull the assembly.
24. Install the new headlight assembly’s and line up all the holes with the correct fasteners.
25. After all the bolts are installed plug in the main headlight assembly. Make sure the assembly is lined up flush with the fender lines. Follow the steps in reverse. When taking out the plastic clips, sometimes they break. Be mindful to replace them if this happens. Thank you!
